Our mission is to equip individuals with the opportunities and resilience they need to thrive – no matter what the world brings to hinder them. Switch Point Homeless Shelter experienced a kitchen flood and needed to serve 3,000 meals over the two weeks required for repairs to take place. We volunteered to serve over 80 persons a hot meal on Saturday August 16th, 2025. That involves obtaining a lot of food, a commercial kitchen to prepare the food, and a lot of work – not to mention the expense. Our entire community came together to get this done. The Southern Chapter of the Women’s Democratic Club known as the “Democrats of Southern Utah” coordinated this effort. The kitchen was made available to us by Grace Episcopal Church. They had provided the St George Community Soup Kitchen before it was transitioned to Switch Point. The Indivisible organization in southern Utah made donations to buy the food. Thanks to the volunteers who made this possible! Southern Utah is a wonderful community – because we care for each other.
